Job summary

South Lincs Rural Primary Care Network (PCN) are pleased to announce 2 fixed term opportunities for Newly Qualified GPs to join our team following the introduction of the ARRSGP role into the Primary Care Network DES until 31.3.25. Ideally, the post holders will need to be able to start as soon as possible and be flexible, as they may be based during these sessions at any of the 9 GP practices that make up the PCN.

SLR PCN is offering £10,000 per session per annum pro-rata, and the post holder will be required to work 6-8 sessions per week, but we are happy to consider less or more. This role offers a unique opportunity to further enhance our PCN services and fulfil our DES responsibilities.

You will work with a well-established and supportive PCN team that includes paramedics, nurses, First Contact Practitioners (Physios), Healthcare Assistants, a Pharmacy team, and a wellbeing team comprising social prescribers, Health and Wellbeing Coaches, and Care Coordinators.

Main duties of the job

To perform as an autonomous general practitioner working independently and with other health care professionals to assess, diagnose and treat the conditions of patients attending within a primary care setting. Provide expert professional advice to patients, carers, and colleagues and ensure the maintenance of clinical excellence.
To be professionally accountable and responsible for all elements of clinical practice in accordance with the GMC code of conduct, ensuring the safety of patients and quality of their care.
The post holder will need to be capable of independent travel across the PCN area and be able to work flexibly to meet the needs of the organisation to support practices and PCN service delivery.
The GP will undertake a variety of duties governed by the GMS contract and objectives of Enhanced Services, including:

  • In-person consultations
  • Telephone consultations
  • Home visits for patients and nursing home residents
  • Checking and signing repeat prescriptions
  • Addressing queries, paperwork, and correspondence as required

About us

We are the largest PCN in Lincolnshire comprising of 9 GP Practices with 98,000 patients. Our PCN and practice teams work together collaboratively and foster positive working relationships.

8 practices are using S1 and 1 practices is using EMIS, although as a PCN, our digital strategy is to move all practices to S1.

Our catchment areas runs from Market Deeping in the south, to Sutterton in the north, Bourne in the west and Long Sutton in the east. We have a large and varied team of Doctors, nurses, paramedics, social prescribers, Health and Wellbeing coaches and healthcare assistants working together to provide health and care services to our patients. In addition, we have a dedicated team of senior nurses who focus on delivering enhanced healthcare to residents in care homes. Person Specification

Essential Qualifications

  • Qualified GP with full GMC registration and a licence to practice
  • Listed on a performers’ list
  • UK driver’s licence
  • Newly Qualified General Practitioner (within 2 years of qualification)
  • Not previously employed substantively at a GP Practice
  • General understanding of the Primary Care contract
  • Excellent communication skills (written and oral)

Desirable

  • Experience of medicines management
  • Experience of QOF and clinical audit
  • EMIS and SystmOne experience

South Lincs Rural PCN will offer the successful candidate membership of the NHS Pension and 30 days annual leave + 8 days bank holidays (pro-rata).

1 session per week will be made available for CPD/Professional development.
