Level 5 General Practice Manager Apprenticeship – Expressions of Interest
This is the level 5 Operations or Departmental Manager Apprenticeship accredited by the Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM).
This course has been tailored to be relevant to general practice, this is a rare opportunity as there are very few courses at this level, specifically tailored to general practice, also it is a very well recognised qualification.
Please read the following information carefully before expressing an interest. By Completing the booking form you are expressing an interest, Lincolnshire LMC will then be in touch to discuss your place.
Overview:
This is a 16 month programme with a time commitment equivalent to approx. 1 day per week of off the job training, (give or take). If you are part-time, then the duration of the course extends, and the off the job hours make up 20% of working hours.
The course is made up of 10 modules covering different aspects of management, including a workplace project. This programme has been developed in partnership with the IGPM to make it more relevant to general practice than the usual generic management course. In addition, the programme will run alongside the IGPM accreditation domains so by the time students complete, they should have everything they need to submit their IGPM accreditation application.
Suitable for:
- Individuals already in a management role within a Lincolnshire general practice who do not already hold a L5 qualification and who are wanting to develop.
- Individuals new to practice management.
- Team leaders and departmental managers aspiring to become practice managers in the future.
The entry requirements are to have a grade C or above in Maths and English at GCSE (or equivalent such as O-level or functional skills). If you do not have that, then you would need to complete the Level 2 Functional Skills Qualifications alongside the apprenticeship, this does require additional commitment.
There is a short assessment during the application process to confirm eligibility.
