New GP Contract 23/24

New GP Contract 23/24

Many of you will be aware of the details of the new contract for 23/24 which is due to be imposed from April.

The imposition is due to GPC being unable to agree to the contract as the offering from NHSE and the government did nothing to address the significant workload and financial pressures on general practice at a time when we needed real term investment and reduction in bureaucracy.

The terms of the new contract poses additional pressure across all aspects of general practice and has significant impacts and risks for all GPs.

GPC have produced a short video highlighting the concerns for all GPs and practices https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oLrUBR0nhXo

We would strongly encourage you to watch this video

A summary of the changes are found at:

We would encourage you to consider and discuss how these changes may impact you.
